E-Tickets are a new, and revolutionary way to receive tickets for an event. The
primary benefit is that you have them in-hand, right after ordering. You do not
have to wait to receive them in the mail and they may include additional information
such as directions, maps, gate entrance information, sponsors or coupons right on
the ticket. Below are some of the most common questions we receive about this process.
How safe are these tickets to use?
These tickets a similar to any other ticket you may purchase. Most regular tickets
have safety features to prove that the ticket is genuine. You E-Ticket has similar
safety features. The E-Ticket will be scanned at the gate and the first E-Ticket
presented will gain admittance. Subsequent copies will be denied. If we have reason
to question the ticket, your ID will be matched to information we save about the
purchase.
What happens if I lose my ticket?
Just like a printed ticket, the E-Ticket has a unique code and you should treat
it like money. If you lose the ticket, it can be reissued on our site. This is another
advantage over a traditional ticket. However, if the original is presented at the
gate, the holder may be admitted instead of you. This is why you should take reasonable
precautions to protect your ticket.
What happens if my tickets are stolen?
Unlike the case above, you can mark the tickets as stolen and we can issue new tickets
to you for a small fee. These tickets will have a new number and the old number
will be marked as "stolen". Anyone presenting such a ticket at the gate will be
questioned. You will need to email us 24 hours prior to the event at support@ticketcostar.com
I printed my tickets but the toner ran out and they look terrible
Well that certainly happens. You might also have a number of other computer glitches
that stop you from printing. You will be given an Order ID that goes with
your email address. This will allow you to come back on the site and reprint the
tickets. There is no charge for this service.
How can I be sure my ticket is good?
We use modern techniques to store and protect your data. Once your order is complete,
we have a record of the sale in the database. We can and will allow you to reprint
the E-Ticket itself. At the gate, your ticket will be scanned with a state-of-the-art
scanner and the E-Ticket number will be validated against our list of valid ticket
numbers. If the scanner system is down, there will be a list of tickets for manual
checking. There is less than one chance in a billion that anyone could guess our
unique proprietary bar codes. The management or promoter has the right to ask for
your ID and/or credit card used for the ticket purchase.
What happens if someone copies a ticket and gives it to friends?
Well, that would be a bad thing! If you or anyone else actually copies the E-Ticket,
certainly the copy will work. However, only the first one presented will be admitted.
All others will be rejected. We will flag multiple tickets as a potential fraud
and check ID. Please remember that duplicating E-Tickets is fraud and may be prosecuted.
Can I buy E-Tickets on the day of the event?
This is up to the operator of the event. Many will choose to only allow purchase
up to the beginning of the event or the day before the admission date. Please check
the site for this detail. It is safe to say that if the site allows you to buy the
ticket, then the ticket is good for the day in question.
Why is it important to enter the credit card billing information "exactly" as
it appears on my monthly statement?
Failure to accurately enter your billing information may result in the transaction
not being completed properly. If using a debit card with the Visa or Mastercard
logo, it may also result in a temporary hold of 5-7 days being placed on the purchase
amount by your financial institution for each transaction entered, even though the transaction/purchase was not completed.
